Local Attractions: Ramos Beach Swimming Pool and Cacique de Ramos
The region we know today as “Zona da Leopoldina”, was formerly cut by several farms, including Sítio do Bambus, owned by Captain Luiz José Fonseca Ramos, secretary of the Military Academy of the Court. When the Northern Railroad passed its tracks through these lands, Captain Ramos' descendants demanded the construction of “Parada do Ramos”, a small station for family use. Of the illustrious residents of Ramos, we can highlight Pixinguinha and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
