Augusto Vasconcellos was born in the neighborhood of Campo Grande and was a renowned doctor in the region. He also made a brilliant political career, having been elected Federal Deputy for three terms, totalling nine years in this position. In addition, he held the positions of Capital Manager and Hygiene Delegate. In 1906, he was elected Senator of the Republic, which is why the neighborhood that honors him is called “Senador Vasconcellos” and the station as well.
