History
Line: Saracuruna
The station “Bonsucesso do Rio” arose from the lands of the old Pedra Plantation, owned by Dona Cecília Vieira de Bonsucesso. It received this name because there was already a Bonsucesso station near Petrópolis, which belonged to the same railway. After its disappearance in 1962, the station was renamed simply Bonsucesso. An interesting fact about the neighborhood is that its streets were named after countries allied in the First World War (1914 - 1918). Then came the Nations Square and Brussels, Rome, Paris, London and New York Avenues.
