History
Line: Japeri
Edson Passos is one of the three railway stations in the municipality of Mesquita, built on top of an old cattle landing where had stood a corral and later a slaughterhouse. For a long time it was said about those disembarking at that station: “The cows are getting off!” The station's name is a tribute to engineer Edison Junqueira Passos. Among the most famous works during his administration at the Secretariat of Transport and Public Works department (1937-1945), he built Avenida Edison Passos, Avenida Brasil, the opening of Avenida Presidente Vargas and the urbanization and landscaping of Praia Vermelha and Jardim de Alá.
