Local Attractions: Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel Samba School and Unidos de Padre Miguel Samba School
Interestingly, as the name of the station suggests, “Moça Bonita” received this name because in this region, near milestone 6 of Estrada Real de Santa Cruz highway, there was a villa where a very beautiful girl lived.
In 1947, the station was renamed Padre Miguel, in recognition of the Spanish priest Miguel de Santa Maria Mochon, priest in the Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Realengo church, where he dedicated his whole life, catechizing and teaching thousands of children and adults in his area of influence.
The Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel Samba School came along years later, more precisely in 1955.
