History
Line: Japeri
The name of the station is inspired by the first capital of Pernambuco, Olinda , which was named by its founder, the Portuguese Duarte Coelho who, upon seeing the place for the first time, is said to have remarked: “Oh, what a beautiful (linda in Portuguese) place to build a village ... ”.
Some researchers, however, claim that the name comes from the village of Linda-a-Pastora in Portugal. But it can also be a reference to the character of a novel written during the time of the great navigations and discoveries: Princess Olinda.
