History
Line: Saracuruna
Farmer José Lucas de Almeida came from Portugal to Rio de Janeiro in the second half of the 19th century, acquiring the lands where today stand Cordovil and Vigário Geral neighborhoods.
Lucas requested the construction of a modest wooden platform for the shipment of his goods and also for the various small farmers in the region on the Leopoldina Railway. This platform became known as “Parada do Lucas”.
