History
Line: Belford Roxo
Local Attractions: 8 de Maio Square
In 1905, the year the station was opened, it was surrounded by Sapê Ranch, owned by Barão de Mesquita. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was acquired by the Rocha Miranda family, descendants of Luis da Rocha Miranda Sobrinho, the Baron of Bananal, and the population asked that the name of the station be changed in honor of the family. In the days of mining in Rio das Pedras, the neighborhood was known as the “neighborhood of precious stones”. The memory of that time is registered in the name of some of its streets, such as: Rua dos Rubis (Ruby Road), Safiras Saphire Street), Diamantes Diamond Road and Topázios (Topaz Street).
