Deodoro Branch

Quinta Boa Vista (Boa Vista Park)
This historical place in the city of Rio de Janeiro once called home by the royal family at the time of the Empire and nowadays possesses a range of attractions, like the city zoo, the National Museum and the Fauna Museum (one of the largest urban parks in the city).
How to get there: take the train on the Deodoro line and get off at São Cristóvão station. Boa Vista park is 5 minutes’ walk from the station.

Railway Museum
Reopened in 2013, the museum recalls the history of Brazil's railways there is a rich collection with pieces from the first locomotive to run on Brazilian soil and the Imperial car that served Dom Pedro II and his family.
How to get there: you can take the train on the Deodoro line, disembarking at Engenho de Dentro station. The museum is beside the Nilton Santos Stadium (Engenhão).

Madureira Park
Opened in 2012, Madureira Park boasts a large green area and offers a variety of recreational, sporting and cultural activities on its multipurpose courts, ping-pong tables and the best skateboarding parks in the country.
How to get there: you can take the Deodoro branch getting off at Madureira station. Madureira Park is a 15-minute walk from the station.

The court of Portela Samba School
Founded in 1926, Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Portela (or just Portela) is known as one of the founders of Carioca Carnaval.
How to get there: Take the Deodoro line and leave the train at Oswaldo Cruz station. The courtyard of the Samba School Portela is just a 10-minute walk from the station.

Aerospace Museum
The largest and most important aviation Museum in Brazil, this place possesses a collection that tells the story of aviation in the country. The Museum is found in the birthplace of Military Aviation in Campo dos Afonsos.
How to get there: Catch a train on the Deodoro branch, getting off at deodoro station. From there it's possible to change to another means of transportation (bus/taxi) to Rua Marechal Fontenelle, 2000.
